Celebrate International Women's Day

International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate the power and beauty of women around the world. One aspect of beauty that deserves recognition is beautiful skin. Skin is the largest organ in the human body, and it plays a vital role in protecting our bodies from external harm. But, beyond its physical function, beautiful skin also has the power to make us feel confident and proud of who we are.

The FYI on Body Butters

I am asked this quite often.  Is Body Butter a Moisturizer and How does it work?

Body butters are formulated without water and are thicker, and richer than a normal body moisturizing cream or lotion.  They are made from natural oils bases, usually from not and seed extracts. This makes it great for not only problem skin areas, or super dry skin, but also for day long, year-round skin HYDRATION! Yes, that’s right, I said HYDRATION.  Your skin takes it time to soak up every delightful super moisturizing ingredient in this luxurious queen of moisturizers.

Let's Talk Crepey Skin

With age, the production of collagen and elastin, the natural proteins that keep our skin firm and elastic, slowly declines. This is a prolonged and gradual process that may take years to appear. However, they say in most cases, your skin starts to turn crepey in your 40’s.

Crepey skin is NOT the same as wrinkles. Wrinkles first appear as creases in the skin and then gradually begin to look more liked deep crevices. The wrinkles start appearing on areas associated with your facial expressions like laugh lines and crows’ feet. While wrinkles usually appear in a small area of your skin, crepey skin appears on larger surface areas. It affects both the epidermis and the dermis (deeper layers) of your skin and is due to the drop in the production of collagen and elastin.
